Chroma Green Screen Shoot
First-of-its-kind virtual event that set new standards of virtual experience and COVID-safety protocols.
Morris Garages launched their third car in India – MG Hector Plus – with a pre-recorded and simul-cast live video on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. The entire live event was conceptualized, planned, and produced in less than 3 weeks; while also following all COVID-related health and safety protocols.
Starting with the pre-production, Chroma (green) screen shoot was precision planned as it involved movements, scenarios and gesture control by the presenters that needed to be in-sync with the virtual environments. A specialist film crew shot with three cameras to capture the speakers across pre-defined points in various scenarios that were being created virtually.
Following the pre-production preparations was an intense creative production and editing process involving visual designers, animators and motion artists. Special techniques were used for smooth partitioning and seamless transitioning between environments and scenarios. The photorealistic output of the Hector Plus car was created with expert 3D modelling, texturing and lighting, in order to get the precise look and dimensions of the real car.
For the launch of MG Motor’s newest SUV, given the scenario with respect to COVID-19, the goal was to make the best of the situation and push the boundaries of what’s possible online and provide an exception virtual experience to the MG’s target audience. A specialist film crew shot with three cameras to capture the speakers across pre-defined points in various scenarios that were being created virtually. The project saw usage of cutting-edge 3D, animation and CGI technologies to its furthest extremes. End result was a spectacular video production with cutting-edge graphics and top-notch quality.
